You read about the unstoppable power, miraculous love, and outrageous sacrifice of the first church. Then you wonder if it is even possible for the church today.
We believe it is not only possible, but it is promised and commanded.
Home Churches in Muskogee desire to follow the New Testament example. So, rather than church being a service or event I attend, we believe the New Testament example tells us that church is a way of sharing life together focused on Christ and a simple spiritual family that gathers with full participation. Why Home Churches in Muskogee?
At Home Churches in Muskogee we desire to passionately pursue what God wants in a church, to get as close to that vision as possible.

In studying the Bible, we found that the descriptions of "church" emphasized some particular values.
The body of believers is supposed to be closer to us than our own families (Matt. 12:46, Luke 14:26).
"Everyone will know that you are my disciples because of your love for each other." John 13:35
Church = Family
We are used to inviting our friends to church so that the pastor can tell them about Jesus. Not us. As followers of Christ, we are each called to make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). This is the mission of every follower of Jesus.
The early church devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and praying, as summarized in Acts 2:42. Nothing flashy or glamorous—just a focus on the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe our gatherings ought to strive to have that focus as well.

These biblical values aren't new at all, both the Bible and experience have shown that these qualities don't just come about by accident. We pray that, by the Holy Spirit, God would guide the intentionality behind our home church structure. Our structure isn't perfect, and being part of a body like this isn't easy at all.
Each church meets in a home. Each home will have believers using their gifts. "Upside Down Leadership" video.
All offerings are set aside to be used for outreach and missions locally and abroad. Since there is no overhead, this structure means that the church effectively costs no money to maintain. As such, the home church is able to make significant ministry decisions without worrying about if they will run out of money....the structure never depended on the money from the beginning.
